DISNEY BOUGHT STAR WARS !!!!

Hurricane Sandy has really shaken shit up. Its been reported that Disney has acquired Lucasfilm for over 4 billion dollars and plans to release Star Wars Episode VII in 2015.  The twitter/Facebook/Blogger verse has literally exploded with reactions.

I personally LOVE Disney, but I understand why people are hesitant to embrace them with opens arms. I mean it's Disney..... Its's supposed to be all about Princes and Princess living it Fantasylands.  But  you have to admit, the company has significantly changed over the years and its time to embrace the new Disney. It's not just about cute animated movies anymore. They are major players in the film industry with wildly successful live action franchises.  We can't be afraid to admit Disney can be edgy and relevant. Disney has done a pretty good job with Marvel since purchasing them a few years back. Does anyone remember that little old movie The Avengers....... Yeah, I thought so. We just have to have faith, it's not like the last few Star Wars movie were anything incredibly special....

Madonna Upgrade?

Step over Madonna, Beyonce is coming. Never in my life did I think anything could top last years Super Bowl Half Time Show --however I never thought the Black Eyed Peas would be that bad--- until diva super star Beyonce was announced as the ring leader. Exited? Yes. Intrigued? Yes. Surprised? A little.

Previous to Madonna, the Super Bowl show has been, well, boring as shit. Tom Petty? Bruce Springsteen? The Who? All great bands, but not great performers (in the spectacle sense). You have to have style, substances and do more than just stand there banging your guitar with some plain old lights. Really what I'm saying is you have to be a pop star. And after the RIDICULOUS ratings the half time show received,  more than the Super Bowl itself, it comes as no surprise another pop star was picked. It seems like the tide has slowly gone back in the right direction ever since the Janet Jackson's nipple gate.

Guests? You bet. Off the top of my head any surprise performers will inevitably be AMAZING!! Hubby Jay-Z? His best friend Kanye? There basically little sister Rihanna? Jay & B's BFF's Coldplay and Gwyneth? Former girl group Destiny's Child? I mean really, it could be anyone. And if I know Beyonce, she will try her best to top last years cirque de Madonna because she knows how to put a ring on it.

Justin Bieber released his new music video for Beauty and a Beat today. I just watched it and it's terrible. No disrespect Biebs. Valiant effort for your directorial debut and I'm sure it was an incredibly fun shoot but I'd rather burn my eyes out than watch it again. It's like a group of aspiring middel school filmmakers got together and tried to make a "cool" video. See for yourself....

Either Christian Aguilera's new album cover is channeling Georgia O'keeffe or Jesus. Either way it's boring, unoriginal and a shameless marketing ploy. I think I was one of ten people who actually enjoyed her last album, Bionic. Personally I had high hopes for her forthcoming album, Lotus, however her newest single and video have been lackluster to say the least. Well not lackluster, but white trash. The Voice and drinking with Blake Shelton have clearly had negative effects on her career. In other news, her boobs are still sporting their "A" game.
